rohan mage guide

Okay to prevent others from posting rediculous and redundent remarks about how I missed something from this guide, please LOOK AT THE F@#!ING "Important Notices" sections. Other than that have a nice day.

Warlocks, can anyone say pvp heaven? They can debuff, spike nuke (I love that word), and aoe at the same time. Warlocks are one of the most easiest class to play and one of the funniest class to be as a beginner! Unlike a Wizard, Warlocks focus more on int which means getting to 50 will be done in no time.

Building a Build) Building a build is key for a successful Warlock. The top 3 most important stats for mage in general would be Int, Psyche, and Vit. Always have more than twice as much int as you have on vit. It's just how a successful build works. If you have too little int, casting your nukes would take up too much time. If you have too much psyche, you'd be better off as a wizard.

One of the most successful build that I have ever done is this: In the first 10 lvls, every lvl increase your vit by 1, and have a base of 50 psyche. The rest can go to int. After when you have accomplished this, immediantly start pumping the rest of your stat points into 3 int 1 vit per lvl. You CANNOT sacrifice your vit, it's a common mistake for all mages to do. In the end, you'll end up incredibly squishy and die off in a couple of hits. NOBODY wants that in their party.

Mana is a big problem when it comes to Warlocks. As you progress further and further down the road, your spells cost too much mp and your mana pool is too small. That's the price you must pay, dealing heavy dmg in a specified amount of time requires alot of mp. Getting psyche isn't always the answer, because there is nothing that a Warlock can do with psyche except for more mana.

*Also note that this guide is to help created for people that have no past experience with Rohan, no connections with people in game, and are pathetically broke.

Things you should know about Warlocks:

- High dmg
- Impressive Combo's
- Powerful AoE's
- Easiest Class to lvl (If done right)
- Mp is a problem when it comes to pvp
- Dps will always remain the same (Without an extra kick)
- Can Debuff
- Relay's on Healer in general
- Squishy in general

Skills) Alot of people misunderstand what and how to use the skills. When and how to get the skills is key. As a future Warlock you MUST HAVE at least 4 nukes, most people prefer 5 so they can fill up a decent combo time slot for grinding. Nukes are spells that deal heavy amount of dmg in a small amount of time. Here's something I decided to pop up:

L1-8: Max out Energy Sphere, this will be your first nuke. Then get Dark Message to (1) and get Dark Eyes.
L8-18: Max out both of the coils and try to even them out before you max them. These will be your 2nd and 3rd nukes. Grinding should be alot easier now.
L18-20: Get 1 points into Int Beam and Encourage, this will now be your 4th or 5th nuke. When you achieve these spells, you can be a non stop grinding machine.
L20-24: Max out Dark Message. Dark Message is one of your best buffs that the game can offer. A maxed Mssge is equal to 18 hp and 10 mp per lvl. That's basically giving you free state points into psyche and vit! Most people don't notice this but Dark mssge also effects you mp/hp recovery. This skill WILL help alot and you simply CANNOT afford to not max it out.
L24-28: Get 4 more points into Encourage and now you have your very first complete nuke aoe. This skill is the bomb. Instant cast, party hoggers, and most importantly it's aoe. The problem with this is it's one of the most consuming skills that you will have and the cd is rather long compared to your other skills. But it's worth it.
L28-32: Max out Int Beam as your finale nuke. Some disagree about Int Beam about the high mana cost and weak damage compared to the other nukes you have but when it comes to pvp, this skill is one of the best you'll have. While your other skills are affected by your opponent's armor system, a maxed Beam gives dmg + 400% of your int into PURE dmg. In late game this skill is really good. But when it comes to grinding, use it when you only need to. It's weaker than Energy Sphere but stronger than all 2 coils.
L32-34: At this point you can either choose to save 18 sp for your Warlock class, OR you can (Although I don't like to) put 2 additional sp into Strong Mind and Boost. IMO Mages don't need buffs that help crit because we already hit high. Some people argue that these skill can decrease the chances of you getting your important buffs from getting debuffed in major pvp Events. I wouldn't max it out until a long time buddy.

Pets, Mounts and other stuff)

There are 6 pets in Rohan so far. Hawk, Bear, Kitty, Monkey, Tiger, Bunny, and Dragon. Each one does it's own thing. The most important pets to you (Rated from 1 - 3, as 1 being the most important) would be [1] Bear, [2] Bunny, [3] Kitty or Monkey

These lil critters, let me tell you - will hurt your money. Pet food is sold at a very high price, so I suggest you don't get any pets until you hit your spec quests.

Mobility is important so it's good to get a mount asap. More speed = more grind, which means more exp.

Equipment should always be updated no matter what. Poor equipments will result in multi death situations. On any item you decide to forge in the future, always implement dmg drop option items into your weapons/armor. They will help alot, trust me. Especially when you hit 54 and get your first aoe party in Roha...

Important Notices:
- Always do tutorial quests, finish all of them in order
- Cold Wave is optional. I however never got it because I never had any use of it. You already grind fast, and you don't need something to waste time and freeze your opponent. But the same cannot be said for pvp, if you really want you can choose to max this out but I wouldn't recommend it.
- Equipment should always be updated asap
- This build DOES NOT require lots of money, in fact it's good for people that doesn't have any money at all
- Soloing is the best way to lvl with this build. Aviod partying in Caves and Dungeons because they have higher pdef, mdef, hp, mp, and mobs alot. ALL Dark Elves are squishy in general, they can't take on more than maybe 2-4. Taking on 1on1 is probably the best way to lvl. I wouldn't suggest partying until 38 when you hit your 2 money quests
- Try to get as much dmg drop items as possible
- Honey bear and Bunny is very useful
- Get as much int/vit/psyche stuff as possible
- DO NOT GET YOU SKILLS TO LVL 6. Because later on you will have a skill that can choose to reset all of your skills into any way of pvp/pve matter that you want. This will also reset your stones so DO NOT get them in early game.
- Portal Warp isn't useful in early game.
- When your m.kill flashes, try to take on a monster that is more around 5 lvls higher than you. Don't worry, you can take them. Just don't get mobbed.

A better build is 3 int 1 vit all the way intell vit is 100 then a 4 int then u have life and more power and u don't have to worry about mana becuase mana coil gives u enough also u can just get mana power ups on your weps and armor. mana is only good for wizards becuase they spam they're attacks on there opponents debuffing them warlocks need to think kite freeze stun and sit down get hp back faster and mana during pvp curse them so they get fucked up to so i hope this comment helps ppl out lol
